Popular Types of Steak Tacos
There are many popular varieties of steak tacos, primarily related to the cut of steak used. In Mexico, the three most common types of steak tacos are arrachera (flank steak), carne asada (charcoal-cooked), and bistec (using less expensive cuts of beef). At J. Alexander’s, we use high-quality strip steak for our tacos, seasoned and grilled to order over a wood fire. We serve our steak tacos with roasted jalapeno sauce, Monterey jack cheese, fresh cilantro, and pico de gallo, all wrapped up in a fresh corn tortilla.
Steak Tacos Ingredients and Sourcing Info
At J. Alexander’s, all of our beef is sourced directly from plants in the American mid-west. Climate matters when it comes to raising delicious beef, and the mid-west is perfect for developing rich marbling and delicious flavor as opposed to hotter climates. Our roasted jalapeno sauce and pico de gallo are prepared in-house daily. Ask your server about sourcing details for the vegetables and cheese used for our steak tacos, as this can vary by season and location.
Steak Tacos Health Benefits
The health benefits of steak tacos largely depend on the ingredients’ quality and preparation. At J. Alexander’s, our strip steak tacos are rich in protein, iron, selenium, and vitamins B6 and B12, as well as low in sodium and saturated fats. With the addition of the pico de gallo, roasted jalapeno sauce, and fresh cilantro, our steak tacos are also high in vitamin C. The use of fresh corn tortillas is also healthier than flour tortillas, as they are lower in carbs and higher in fiber.
Steak Tacos Customer Review
I went to J. Alexander’s for lunch and ordered the steak tacos. There were three soft tacos filled with juicy cut steak, vegetables, and cheese. The sauce was amazing and I can’t believe how mouth-wateringly good the steak was!
